May 31, 2016 – On May 31, Mai Yeqing, vice-president of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in South China division, visited CCS to discuss future cooperation with the center. A symposium hosted by CCS director Tang Xiaosong was held, and all CCS staff members and students attended the event.
Professor Tang briefed Mr. Mai on the center’s latest research directions and future plans, proposing cooperation in multiple fields including talent import, scholar visits and student exchange programs with Canadian schools.
Mr. Mai made a brief introduction to his career, and expressed interest in cooperating. Productive and friendly discussions were held on various topics including social and political conditions in Canada, the role of Chinese Canadian organizations in Sino-Canadian relations, and immigration policies.

After the symposium, a volume of the Blue Book of Canada(Annual Report on the Development of Canada, 2015) was given to Mr. Mai by Professor Tang Xiaosong on behalf of CCS.
