October 24, 2014 – On October 14, Donald Drummond, Canadian economist, and Weldon Epp, Canadian Consul General in Guangzhou, visited GDUFS.
Zhong Weihe, president of GDUFS, pointed out that the inter-school cooperative programs between the school and its counterparts in Canada have achieved steady progress. He also expressed that GDUFS expects to enhance the development of existing cooperative programs and to expand cooperation covering more areas with related universities in Canada.
Donald Drummond observed that the promotion of academic exchanges in the era of globalization is of great significance. He hoped to create more opportunities for Canadian students to study in China and to promote Sino-Canadian educational cooperation and exchanges.
Weldon Epp emphasized that the deepening economic cooperation between China and Canada has laid an important foundation for Sino-Canadian academic cooperation and hoped that such cooperation would become a bridge for academic exchanges and talent-flowing between the two countries.
